As seasons change and leaves start to turn colors, we can’t help but think of the beauty in nature. But also, we can’t help but think that someone’s going to have to rake all these things up…
One of the main reasons why we rake leaves is because extensive leaf cover can block valuable sunlight and airflow from reaching the grass. Of course, that’s the last thing we want to happen if we’re hoping to have a beautiful lawn in the spring and summer months. However, the fact is that a moderate amount of leaf cover may be a good thing.
If leaf-raking isn’t your thing, you could also consider blowing them away, or bagging them up with a lawnmower attachment. Also, a lot of people have found success in using their lawnmower to mulch the leaves. While it may take a few extra passes, cutting the leaves small enough can actually be beneficial for your grass.
